Ballot initiatives nationwide
Jenny Drage Bowser at the National Conference of State Legislatures has compiled an impressive searchable database on voter initiatives and referenda across the U.S. and over time. Curious to learn which states' voters are weighing in on energy policy this year? Wondering about recent trends in measures on banking and financial services? Or just want to see what your friends in Florida are considering in 2008?
Keyword search is also available. Data can be searched by type of initiative: legislative or popular referenda, voter petition initiatives, and other types. For past elections, the site also reports the success or failure and percentage outcome of votes on each measure.
Take a look at NCSL's Ballot Measures Database here - and tune in later for the results of 2008 voting.

With election day barely in our rearview mirror, our focus very much remains on who won, who lost, what passed and what didn't.
While that obsession's still strong, take a look at this, a Ballot Measures Database from the National Conference of State Legislators (brought to my attention just yesterday by the Special Libraries Assocation's Government Info blog).
