TheBureauofIndianAffairs(BIA) andOfficeoftheSpecial Trustee(OST) moved 236 hoxesofinactive records from various field locations to Lenexa, Kansas, for iride,xing and subsequent storage at the American Indian Records Repository (AIRR) during this reporting period.

DuringthemonthofDecember, OTRAperformed one records assessment at the following location: OST, Office ofAppraisal Services, Pacific Region office. OTRAissuedtworecords assessmentreports, one for.eachofthe following locations~ OST, Office ofAppraisal Services, Great Plains Region office and

• Records Training 
In December 2007, OTR provided records management training for 96 BWOST records contacts and Tribal employees. OTRprovided training on vital records for 37 BIA employees. .

AIRR staff provided responses to 156 research requests from B~ OST and other requesters. With the filing ofnumerous tribal trust litigation cases, litigation-related

information and document requests pertaining to records at the·AJRR continue to increase. Many ofthese requests have very short deadlines.
