Lithuania - Summary of Requirements

The following protocols for exporting animals to Lithuania are available through the International Regulations Retrieval System (IRRS).

SPECIES - MOST RECENT UPDATE

Cattle

  • Bovine embryos: Annex II - In vivo derived embryos (eligible for intra-Community trade). Bilingual English- Lithuania March 2006 (pdf 228kb)
  • Bovine embryos: Annex III - In vitro derived embryos, conceived using semen complying with Council Directive 88/407/EEC (eligible for intra-Community trade). Bilingual English- Lithuania March 2006 (pdf 236kb)
  • Bovine embryos: Annex IV - In vitro derived embryos, conceived using semen coming from an approved semen collection/storage center (excluded from intra-Community trade). Bilingual English- Lithuania March 2006 (pdf 240kb)
  • Bovine embryos: Annex V - Embryos collected or produced before January 1, 2006, conceived using semen coming from an approved semen collection center (excluded from intra-Community trade) NOTE: May be used for in vivo or in vitro derived embryos for a transitional period until December 31, 2006. Horses

  • Horses temporary admission - Under Revision

  • Horses reentry less than 30 days - Under Revision
  • Horses - Re-entry of registered horses that have taken part in international Group/Grade meetings in Australia, Canada, the United States of America, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore or the United Arab Emirates after temporary export for less than 90 days (pdf 161kb)

Birds (Ornamental, other than poultry) - Requirements, Health Certificate, and Conditions for Quarantine (pdf 263kb)

For species not listed, the requirements are not known. However, exporters wanting to ship livestock whose requirements are not listed in the IRRS, should have the interested party (importer/buyer) in the country of destination apply for an Import Permit at the appropriate ministry. This Import Permit will most likely outline the specific requirements.
