The NIEHS Office of Management (OM) directs and conducts administrative and facilities management activities for the Institute by providing services in the areas of financial, personnel, acquisition, and supply and property management, as well as other administrative and office services. The OM advises the NIEHS director and staff on developments in administrative management and their implications and effects on program management throughout NIEHS; develops policies on administrative management; and prepares and issues procedures and guidelines for the implementation of administrative policies and requirements. Prior to that he was the manager of the Management and Technical Support Office at the NASA Engineering and Safety Center. He is the former deputy assistant secretary and chief financial officer for the Science and Technology Directorate in the Department of Homeland Security, which is responsible for researching, organizing, and leveraging the scientific, engineering, and technological resources of the United States to protect the homeland, and chief information officer for the National Nuclear Security Administration. Hollander holds a BS in accounting from George Mason University and an MS in management from Florida Institute of Technology.
