Each
has own style: Jenna, left, will go strapless; for Barbara, a V-neck. |
The Bushes' 19-year-old twin daughters, Jenna and Barbara, will make the rounds
at the inaugural balls in very grown-up dresses by Susan Dell, wife of Texas'
richest man (yes, that Dell), who hopes to make her fashion name as well
known as husband Michael's computer fame.

Jenna, a freshman at the University of Texas whom Dell
describes as "more a blue-jeans-and-T-shirt kind of gal," will be
wearing a strapless column dress with a deep V back, made of black French stretch
tulle over bias-cut black silk charmeuse. The tulle will be hand-beaded with
cut black jet and iridescent amethyst rocaille beads, scattered with hand-dyed,
beaded rose-colored silk orchid petals and embroidered silk vines and leaves.
"She likes clean and simple elegance," says Dell, 37, well known
in Texas among the ball-and-gala-going crowd for the elegant gowns she designs.
Barbara, a Yale freshman described as "more whimsical, trendy, chic,"
will be wearing a V-neck slip dress in layers of Italian silk tulle and iridescent
deep-currant silk chiffon, decorated with silk ruffles, antique Venetian glass
beads and an abstract pattern of sequins.
"The splatters of beads look like confetti (because) it's a celebration,"
Dell says. "I wanted the whole family looking well put together, the perfect
family portrait he's in a black tux, (Laura is) in red, and the girls
in (complementary) colors."
