Environment & Agriculture >> Soil
In the past, soil degradation has caused significant harm to many regions of the world – most notably, the loss of agricultural productivity due to soil erosion. Conventional agriculture augments erosion, alters microbial communities and contaminates soil with pesticides, nutrients and herbicides. Sustainable agriculture views healthy soil as the most important farming “input.”
