Civil Planning and Engineering (CESWF-EC-T) is the District's civil works design office. As such, the office is responsible for the technical execution of planning studies; the technical sufficiency of civil and structural design for civil works projects; planning, design, and negotiation of agreements for relocations, including those designed by architect-engineer (A-E) firms; hydrologic and hydraulic aspects of all phases of project development and operation including required economic evaluations of all current and proposed civil works projects; technical sufficiency and planning of surface and subsurface geology and soils investigations by in-house Core Drill activity or by means of contracting (with oversight of contract work); laboratory testing, and design and analysis for embankment, levee, river channel, and structure foundation; dam safety; and technical support for construction and operation of civil works projects.
