In 1994, the U.S. Congress established the Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Fund. The funding from this project allows the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to provide support for the conservation of five surviving tiger species – all of which are threatened by illegal hunting and habitat loss. Enabling legislation includes the Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Act of 1994 and the Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Act 1998 amendments. |
