Assistant Inspector General for Millennium Challenge Corporation

Alvin A. Brown


Alvin A. Brown is a member of the Senior Executive Service. He has held various auditor positions within the U.S. Agency for International Development, Office of Inspector General (USAID/OIG). Mr. Brown is currently the Assistant Inspector General for the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), supporting integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness in all MCC activities through the detection and prevention of fraud, waste and abuse. He previously served as the Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Audit where he managed four overseas offices (South Africa, Senegal, San Salvador, and Germany) and two headquarters offices (Financial Audit Division and the Information Technology and Special Audits Division). Mr. Brown also served as the Deputy Assistant Inspector General and Director for Financial and Information Technology Audits in the OIG/MCC office where his efforts rendered a clean opinion on MCC's first set of financial statements.

Mr. Brown has 23 years of auditing experience with the federal government. He served as Director of Financial Management Audits for the Department of Transportation (DOT) in the Office of Inspector General, managing a major audit that resulted in a significant disbursement to correct outstanding deficiencies at both the Department of Agriculture and USAID. Prior to joining DOT, Mr. Brown served in multiple auditor positions for USAID/OIG's Financial Audits Division, including the Director of Financial Audits and the Assistant Director of Financial Audits. His responsibilities included managing, planning, and conducting audit activities.

Mr. Brown served as auditor for the Department of Agriculture's Office of Inspector General, where he participated, conducted, planned, and performed local and nationwide program and financial audits. While employed by the Department of Agriculture, Mr. Brown served on two one-year details, one at the Office of Independent Counsel and another working with Senator Leahy as a staff member on the Senate Agriculture Committee.
