Food Protection Plan – Organization and Management.

The purpose of this chart is to show the organizational responsibilities and management oversight for administering the FDA Food Protection Plan and the Import Safety Action Plan.

The first box shown underneath the chart title is the FDA Management Council.  This council is vested with the management oversight of the Food Protection and Import Safety Action Plans.

Under the FDA Management Council, there is a box representing the Internal Steering Committee.  An upward arrow is positioned above the box to show a reporting relationship to the FDA Management Council.

Beneath the Internal Steering Committee box, there are two boxes showing the Food Protection Plan chaired by Dr. David Acheson and the Import Safety Action Plan co-chaired by Dr. Jeff Shuren and Ms. Maggie Glavin.  Diagonal arrows from the Food Protection Plan box and the Import Safety Action Plan box points to the Internal Steering Committee.

Under the Food Protection Plan, there are two bulleted texts:  Domestic Food and Imported Food.  Under the Import Safety Action Plan, there are two bulleted texts:  Crosscutting Import Issues and Imported Medical Products.
