Abstract: The third inventory of Indiana's timber resource shows that area of timberland increased from 3.9 to 4.3 million acres between 1967 and 1986, and growing-stock volume gained from 3.7 to 5.2 billion cubic feet. Presented are analysis and statistics on forest area and timber volume, growth, mortality, removals, and projections.
