Crude and Age-Adjusted Prevalence of Any Mobility Limitation per 100 Adults with Diabetes, United States, 1997–2003

In 2003, among adults with diabetes, 58.8% reported a mobility limitation (i.e., walking a quarter mile, climbing up 10 steps, standing for 2 hours, or stooping, bending, or kneeling). Although the prevalence changes between year 1997 and 2003 are pronounced, no major changes in overall prevalence of any mobility limitation are apparent during this time frame. Trends in the crude and age-adjusted prevalence were similar, suggesting that the aging of the population had little or no effect on trend during this time period.
