Need Help Searching?
At EnergyFiles there are more than 500 databases and Web sites containing information and resources pertaining to science and technology, both multidisciplinary and subject specific. Additionally, you can find links to energy related sites in STI Collections and Tools, and links to professional organizations, conferences, funding information, and reference material in Related Resources. The OSTI Resource Search provides cross-cutting access to DOE databases, such as the DOE Information Bridge and the DOE R&D Project Summaries Database.
Within each of the Subject Pathways below, you will find subject specific resources hosted by a variety of agencies and organizations.
The Multidisciplinary Databases and Resources area contains collections and resources in which the information encompasses several subject areas.

Additional QuickRank™ Features
QuickRank sends you the most relevant results; this means that the number of QuickRank returns may differ from the number of raw returns from the individual agency listing, which aren't filtered by QuickRank. |
|
Our QuickRank filter is based on placement of key words: If your key word is not in a prime location in the document, likely the result won’t be ranked.
Your results will contain top tier databases in terms of relevancy. But, you can also visit the for further investigation.
If your search only returns three (3) or fewer ranked results, we’ll send you directly to our display by agency. |
Search Tips
Limiting the number of collections searched at one time will return faster results. |
|
Using precise word or phrase searches will return the best results.
Full-text searching is available when supported by the agency’s database.
The result list is linked to the expanded information. You will know the full-text PDF is available when you see the PDF icon .
“And” and “Or” operators are generally supported (for example, searching for frogs or toads returns results with either or both words).
There’s no need to use quotes for phrases – we phrase-search by default.
The * (asterisk) wildcard character is supported in some databases (for example, searching for ecolog* will find both ecological and ecology).
Searches are not case sensitive (for example, searching for RAIN, Rain, or rain will return the same results). |
