Description: GBV includes the International Bibliography of Periodical Literature covering all subject areas from around the world in German, French and English. With over 11,000 periodicals indexed, the IBZ is especially strong in humanities and social sciences. The print counterpart is Internationale Bibliographie der Zeitschriftenliteratur .

GBV online is the web portal of the GBV Common Library Network of the German States Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Niedersachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Thüringen and the Foundation of Prussian Cultural Heritage.

The Database Overview - Main menu provides links to the following resources:

• IBR : International Bibliography of Book Reviews - contains about 1 million book reviews from from 1985 to the present The database is international and interdisciplinary, covering over 6 thousand academic journals mainly in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
• IBZ : International Bibliography of Periodical Literature - contains over 2.5 million journal articles from about 10 thousand journals covering the years 1983 to the present.
• IDZ - Index of German Journals (1750-1815).
• GVK - Common Union Catalogue - multimaterial bibliographic database covers the holdings of over 24.3 million records of more than 760 GBV member and associated libraries with over 49.3 million separate catalogue entries of books, conference proceedings, periodicals, dissertations, microfilms and electronic resources.
• Online Resources (OLR) - covers more than 133,000 holdings of digitalized full text documents listed in the Union Catalogue (GVK) including 34,500 digitalized full text documents from ZDB and EZB Regensburg.
