Name of Bird
Black-capped Chickadee

Description

The Chickadee is a self confident bird. It will do anything to find insects. It will go through snow, wind, and rain but it can not go through ice to search for insects. At these times the Chickadee will visit birdfeeders. Food offered by humans that Chickadees like is suet, bacon, pork rind, sunflower seeds, shelled nuts, and it's very favorite, pumpkin seeds.
The Chickadee's habitat is mixed forest, pine woods, wetlands, parks, orchards and backyards. They build their nests in rotting wood, old woodpecker holes, and natural cavities.
The dangerous animals for Chickadees are hawks, owls, crows, and house cats. Another thing that threatens them is that there is not enough rotting wood for nesting. When people spray their lawns to get rid of insects it is harder for the Chickadee to then find food.
