Notice: On February 5, 2007 BLM will implement Transport Layer Security (TLS) on all secure web sites. If you do not have TLS 1.0 enable in your browser, you will not be able to access our secure sites. Firefox and Internet Explorer 7.0 have TLS automatically enabled. Earlier browsers require you to enable manually.

TLS is a protocol that enables private communication between Users and Web Servers. When the user and server communicate, TLS ensures that no one can eavesdrop or tamper with any of the communication. TLS is the successor to the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

To configure Internet Explorer to support TLS 1.0, follow these steps:

  • On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  • On the Advanced tab, under Security, make sure that the following check boxes are selected:

 Use SSL 2.0
 Use SSL 3.0
 Use TLS 1.0

 3. Click Apply, and then click OK.
