The 25th session of the Governing Council / Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC/GMEF) of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) will be held from 16 to 20 February 2009 at the United Nations Office in Nairobi, Kenya.

The GC/GMEF will continue to move towards climate neutrality in its 25th session. New initiatives to monitor and reduce significant impacts on the environment, such as greenhouse gas emissions, waste products and water usage will be implemented when "greening the GC" in Nairobi, Kenya.
