Hi Everyone!
Welcome to OSU for the new and transfer students and welcome back to the returning students! For those of you who do not know me, my name is Earlean Wilson Huey and I am the Ujima Education Office Coordinator. It is my pleasure to serve as the Ujima Coordinator because it affords me an opportunity to assist Black students in achieving their desired goals. The purpose of the Ujima Education Office is to assist African, African American, and multiracial students of African descent with their development culturally, academically, and socially. I am very committed to creating UNITY within OSU's BLACK community and also focus a lot on the retention of Black students. If you are struggling in your classes, please see me Early!! It will be too late if you wait until finals week to inform me you're having problems. Additionally, I assist students with any problem they may have, whether it is roommate issues, racial incidences, personal, etc. (Confidentiality is guaranteed). I will do everything within my power to help you be successful at OSU. Please do not hesitate to stop by my office, which is located on the first floor of the Kerr Administration Bldg. or call on me at 737-9032 for any assistance you need. Our Purpose
The purpose of the Ujima Education Office is to assist African/African American students with their development culturally, educationally, and socially. Retention is the heart of Ujima and recruitment is the natural extension.Promoting campus based groups and programs are essential. Equally important is fostering relationships within Corvallis and surrounding communities to help build an exciting atmosphere for recruitment.
