Riley Pass Abandoned Uranium Mines

 

Final Engineering Evaluation and Cost Analysis (EE/CA), Riley Pass Abandoned Uranium Mine, Harding County South Dakota Available

The Custer National Forest, Sioux Ranger District with the assistance of EPA and the State of South Dakota, has developed a final cleanup plan for the Riley Pass Abandoned Uranium Mine in the North Cave Hills.

The Final Draft EE/CA was released July 11, 2006. Comments were received and are included as Appendic G of the Final EE/CA. No changes were made to the preferred alternatives identified in the Final Draft.

The Final EE/CA was released November, 2006 and is available during normal business hours at the Sioux Ranger District Office at 101 SE First Street, Camp Crook, SD, and at the Harding County Courthouse at 410 Ramsland Street in Buffalo, SD.

Activities at the site are expected to begin summer of 2007.
