Travel Planning Update

  • View the most recent letter, dated 10/10/08, from the Forest Supervisor regarding the status of the Travel Planning project.
  • The Bitterroot National Forest released its Travel Planning Proposed Action to the public on September 24, 2007 requesting written comments on the proposal. Due to several requests from the public the comment period was extended twice to allow the public adequate time to review the proposal and send in their comments. The final deadline for sending in comments was February 29, 2008. Additionally numerous public meetings were held throughout the Bitterroot Valley during the winter of 2008 to allow as many people as possible to be involved in this early stage of the planning process.

The Forest received 799 letters and emails in response to the Travel Planning Proposed Action scoping phase. Listed below are links to 13 documents that index these comments in no particular order. Once in the index document click on the hyperlink in the first column to view a particular letter.
