  Q: Where is the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest?

A: Northern Wisconsin, near the Great Lakes.


 

The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest is seeking applications for a concession special use permit for Two Lakes Campground. Proposals and applications must be received by close of business (4:30 p.m.) on January 30, 2009. See the Two Lakes Concessionaire Page for related documents and information.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, A REVISED FIREWOOD RESTRICTION ORDER issued by the Forest Supervisor continues to ban the possession, storage, or transport of any firewood that originates from outside the state of Wisconsin AND from south of Wisconsin State Highway 29. Read the News Release and Closure Order for more information.

Tribal Gathering Memorandum of Understanding: The Forest Service and 10 Chippewa Tribes of the Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife commission entered into an agreement dealing primarily with the Tribes' treaty rights to gather wild plants on National Forest lands.
