BlocksBlocks have always been a fundamental part of learning and development. They give children a chance to build, which allows them to strengthen many visual-spatial understandings, from mathematical concepts to awareness of physics principles, to the development of basic engineering skills. Working with blocks that retain some of the features of a tree is another way children experience transformation of physical objects, and also reinforces a connection with the natural world. Blocks are made from a variety of woods and/or shapes; children get to strengthen skills in sorting, classifying and comparing properties. The squares and rectangle blocks allow children to experience building with geometric shapes for structures that are quite sturdy and elaborate. The Tree Blocks, with the many different shapes and sizes, help children concentrate and think in advance of what piece will work to create a multi-tiered tower.
