In addition to our club activities, several of our club members own and care for State and County Champion Trees.

Champion White Oak
 White Oak

A Champion Tree is the largest of it’s species that is registered with the Forest Conservancy Board in each county in the state. County lists are compared to identify State Champions, and state lists are compared to identify National Champions. The list is updated annually. To see pictures of the Champion Trees belonging to District IV Club Members, click here.

One such tree is this State Co-Champion White Oak. It is 276” around, 96’ tall, and 119’ wide.

If you or one of your club members also has such a grand tree, please send the information and picture to the newsletter editor, and it will be added to the Champion Tree album.
