FEMA Recovery
FEMA is launching the FEMArecovery.gov website in order to provide information of the disaster assistance made available by FEMA for the recovery and rebuilding of the Gulf Coast. The purpose of the FEMA Recovery Transparency Initiative is to present the public with clear and consistent information about federal funding provided to assist in the rebuilding of public infrastructure throughout the State. The FEMA Gulf Coast Recovery Office (GCRO) has developed this initiative to demonstrate FEMA`s commitment to enhanced transparency of information and assistance provided throughout the Gulf Coast Region.

Rebuilding the Gulf Coast

As part of this new initiative, the Gulf Coast Recovery Maps website provides detailed information about the infrastructure repair and rebuilding projects across the Gulf Coast. Through this unique website, users can access maps of current information about the status of fire stations, schools, hospitals and other Public Assistance projects in their communities. Users will also be able to obtain financial data including the amount of Public Assistance funds obligated by FEMA to the state.
In order to improve the information being shared with communities who are rebuilding, FEMA GCRO will continue to gather thorough Public Assistance data to provide enhanced transparency across the Gulf Coast. Although the data collection has started in Louisiana, FEMA plans to implement it throughout the region and will continually make enhancements to the data, adding more information as it becomes available. Data collected for the FEMA Recovery Transparency Initiative is designed specifically to meet the information needs of residents, neighborhood leaders, local officials, state and federal officials and the investment community.
The FEMA GCRO will continue to strive for enhanced transparency, together with state and local officials, working to achieve progress through partnership. With the commitment to transparency, FEMA will continue to make enhancements and add more information to the website, so FEMA invites you to visit the recovery maps website often.
