Amy Uyematsu speaks at the 2006 National Book Festival.
Speaker Biography: Amy Uyematsu, award-winning poet and high school math teacher, is the author of three collections of poetry, including the most recent, "Stone Bow Prayer" (Copper Canyon Press, 2005). A recipient of the Nicholas Roerich Poetry Prize, she also co-edited "Roots: An Asian American Reader," one of the first anthologies in Asian American studies. She is a sansei (third-generation Japanese) and lives near Los Angeles.
