USDA Extends Sign-up for 2008 Conservation Security Program
Sign-Up Will Run Through May 30
WASHINGTON, May 7, 2008—U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources
Conservation Service (NRCS) Chief Arlen Lancaster today announced that producers
in the Upper White-Village Watershed in Arkansas now have until May 30 to apply
for the Conservation Security Program (CSP) in fiscal year 2008. The watershed
includes portions of Greene, Independence, Jackson, Lawrence, Randolph, White
and Woodruff counties.

Schafer Announces Conservation Security Program Sign-Up
Sign-Up Begins April 18 in Upper White-Village Watershed in Arkansas
WASHINGTON, March 20,
2008—Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer announced a sign-up for the Conservation
Security Program (CSP) will be available starting on April 18 to approximately
698 potentially eligible farms covering more than 348,750 acres in the Upper
White-Village Watershed in Arkansas. The watershed includes portions of Greene,
Independence, Jackson, Lawrence, Randolph, White and Woodruff counties.

Contractors Applying for Government Contracts Must Be Registered in the
Central Contractor Registration Database
Little Rock, Ark., Feb. 13, 2008 – Contractors applying for
government contracts to cleanup the Feb. 5 tornado damage or any other federal
contracts are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR)
database.

NRCS Provides Technical, Financial Assistance to Landowners for Tornado Cleanup
Little Rock, Ark., Feb. 12,
2008 – The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service is providing Arkansas
landowners funding through the Emergency Watershed Protection program for the
removal of storm debris from stream channels and bridge structures caused by the
Feb. 5 tornadoes.

NRCS Accepting Environmental Quality Incentives Program Applications
Little Rock, Ark., Feb. 7, 2008 – Farmers and landowners in
Arkansas can submit applications anytime to apply for cost-share assistance to
implement conservation activities through the Environmental Quality Incentives
Program (EQIP).
