Bovine (Cow) Sequencing Research Breakthrough
CSREES was one of almost a dozen governments and organizations that helped fund a nearly year-long effort to provide a first draft of the genome sequence of bovines, or cows. CSREES continues to be involved through its National Research Initiative (NRI) competitive grants program. See related News Release. Three genome assemblies have been produced.
