The visitor programme envisioned entails the following: For a time period of a few weeks up to six months, visitors who have their own funding and who have consulted with one or more Secretariat staff concerning the project to be undertaken can be welcomed to the Secretariat and provided with desk space, computer and network support, and other services enjoyed by permanent staff. Careful scheduling of such visits will be necessary, as the visitor space is limited. More importantly, the timing of particular projects will need to be fitted in to the Work Programme that is in force at the time. The Secretariat can assist with finding housing and making transportation arrangements, but all expenses must be borne by the visitor or his/her sponsoring institution, organisation or country.
