The Southwest Center for Agricultural Health, Injury Prevention and Education (SW Center) is part of a program initiative of the National Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to conduct research, intervention, prevention, education, and outreach projects designed to reduce occupational injuries and diseases among agricultural workers and their families. The Southwest Center is located at the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler, Texas (UTHCT) and currently funds projects in three core areas of investigation: Research, Intervention/Prevention, and Outreach/Education. Project Directors are located at various institutions within the five states (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas) served by the SW Center.
