National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges (NASULGC) Section on Ecology

CSREES coordinates with the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC) section on Ecology. The purpose of the Section on Ecology is to promote university-based programs in the ecological sciences, and to ensure that the nation maintains and benefits from a strong and diverse academic capability in all aspects of ecology. It monitors and supports budgets for a variety of federal natural resources agencies and programs, including providing Congressional briefings.

The ecology section is one of five sections within the NASULGC Board on Natural Resources, which is itself one of five boards within the Commission on Food, Environment, and Natural Resources. The ecology section, made up of representatives from state and land-grant and other universities, assembles at the NASULGC annual meeting and carries on activities throughout the year to promote university-based programs dealing with ecological issues.
