Sharon Robinson, daughter of legendary baseball hero Jackie Robinson, moderated a panel of NPR commentators on the subject of books about baseball.
Speaker Biography: Daughter of the legendary baseball hero, Sharon Robinson is Director of Educational Programming for Major League Baseball. In this capacity, she created and now manages "Breaking Barriers, In Sports, In Life," a national character-education program designed to empower students with strategies to help them face obstacles in their lives. She is also author of "Stealing Home" and "Still the Storm." Robinson received her bachelor's degree from Howard University in 1973 and her master's from Columbia University in 1976. She went on to receive a post-master's certificate in teaching from the School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1998 she received her doctorate of humane letters from Medaille College.
