USDA 2006  Agricultural Outlook Forum logoAgricultural Outlook Forum to feature Conservation

Conservation sessions will be featured at the upcoming Agricultural Outlook Forum on February 16-17, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, VA. There is no registration fee for USDA employees in the Washington D.C. area. Program details, including NRCS participants, are available at the program website.

On Thursday afternoon, Putting Conservation on the Ground: Using Incentives to Increase Conservation Activities, will be presented. That session will be followed by Conservation: USDA’s Conservation Role in Bio-fuel Production.

On Friday morning, a session on the Future of Conservation Markets and a discussion on Chinese Agriculture: Impediments to Growth (wind and water erosion), will precede a discussion on Conservation Title of 2007 Farm Bill – Possibilities and Probabilities. NRCS Chief Bruce Knight is scheduled to serve as moderator for this session.

USDA holds the forum to provide timely forecasts of farm prospects and insight into developments affecting the farm economy.
