Description
Funding is available through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Anadromous Fish Restoration Program (AFRP) to complete environmental compliance documents and permitting; and locate and eradicate non-native noxious weeds, specifically arundo (Arundo donax), salt cedar (Tamarix chinensis), tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima), black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia), scotch broom (Cytisus scoparius), and pampas grass (Cortaderia selloana) within the riparian corridor of Cottonwood Creek, with an emphasis on eradicating arundo and salt cedar. Within the context of this Request for Proposals, these species are referred to non-native invasive species to be targeted, or NIS target species. The first priority for treatment (focused project area) for this Project is located on the South Fork of Cottonwood Creek, which lies in Tehama County, CA, and its tributaries, down to the confluence of the South Fork with the mainstem of Cottonwood Creek. Second priority for treatment is the mainstem of Cottonwood Creek, from the uppermost identified location of the above-identified NIS target species.
