News: New GBIF Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT) beta testing opens in January

The new Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT) allows for publishing specimen and observational occurrence data, names data and dataset descriptive data to the internet in a single toolkit.

Key features of the IPT include TAPIR services, map visualisation using the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) services and an embedded web site to allow for browsing, searching and discovery of the underlying data.

In January 2009, the beta version will be released and anyone is welcome to become a beta tester. Please contact portal@gbif.org should you wish to become involved. The current development release is available for viewing on http://ipt.gbif.org.
