Ms. Eklund has a PhD in Systematic Botany and a MSc in Education. Helena’s former research combined palaeobotany and neobotany. For her dissertation she studied basal angiosperms (in particular Laurales and Chloranthaceae), and during a 2-year postdoc at University of Leeds, Helena worked with a flora from the Antarctic Cretaceous.

Most recently, Helena has worked as an upper secondary school teacher, and as a curator at the Museum of Evolution, Uppsala University.
