Did you know that GBIF is offering some RSS feeds from its registry and data portal?

RSS, which stands for "Rich Site Summary" or "Really Simple Syndication" is a popular technique for notifying changes on web sites. For instance the Convention on Biological Diversity offes several RSS feeds from their home page http://www.biodiv.org/rss.shtml.

GBIF RSS feeds are shown on the right-hand-side panel of the GBIF home page. By default see the channel on newly added or changed data providers, and another one listing the most popular items in GBIF's CIRCA document management system.

If you click on "Preferences" at the top of the home page, you can choose more channels, such as newly added resources/collections and taxa with new records.

Webmasters of other websites such as GBIF Nodes may consider adding these on their home pages.

Every CIRCA interest group also has a number of RSS feeds. Contact GBIF helpdesk, if you want to find out about these.
