GBIF Data Use Agreement requires that users acknowledge the data providers and collections in conjunction of a public use of their data. These documents describe how users can cite in printed publications the data that they have obtained through GBIF.

  1. Guidelines how to cite specimen and observation data
  2. Guidelines how to cite names data
  3. White paper on background and issues

All these papers are drafts. A public commenting period of their contents and the issues extends until 30 June 2005. After that the GBIF Science Committee will consider the feedback. Send your comments to webmaster@gbif.org.

These and other data use documents are also available in the Spanish language from the GBIF.ES web site. GBIF very much appreciates these contributions of translations.
