News: Participants for the SpeciesBanks workshop

The GBIF - NLBIF - ETI workshop on "Building SpeciesBanks: How Shall We Shape the Future?" is fully subscribed. Registration closed on 31 January, and participants were notified of their status on 2 February 2005.

The workshop will be attended by 61 persons from 20 countries. The four invited speakers are Dr. Robert Robbins of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Ms. Marjorie Pyoos of the South African Ministry of Science, Dr. Kevin Thiele of the Center for Biodiversity Informatics at the University of Queensland, and Dr. Rainer Froese of FishBASE.
