News: 13,000 records of type specimens online from Herbar Z + ZT

Focal points of this collection are New Caledonia and South Africa. It is also probable that many types that went lost during World War II destructions in Berlin may be found in this type collection.

As of 24 November, more than 13,000 botanical types are accessible online at Herbar Z+ZT of Zürich, Switzerland. These types can also be accessed through the GBIF portal.

The combined herbaria of the University and ETH Zürich currently include some 3.5 million specimens that represent worldwide vascular plants, mosses, algae and fungi. Together, these herbaria comprise one of the largest university plant collections in the world.
