News: Travel Grants to Attend the ‘From Ink to Electrons - Challenges and Solutions in Digitising Herbaria’ Workshop
To be held in 20-22 January 2005
in Chania, Crete, Greece, at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, a limited number of ‘Travel Grants’ are available on a competitive basis to support GBIF participation in the Advanced Workshop ‘From Ink to Electrons - Challenges and Solutions in Digitising Herbaria’ Workshop.

This advanced workshop is intended mainly for those already actively involved in digital databasing of herbarium collections. The workshop will be limited to 20-25 participants.
Applicants for these travel grants must meet the following requirements:
1. Must be actively working in a herbarium
2. Must be actively databasing the herbarium's specimens.
3. Must be from a GBIF member country or working with a GBIF participant organization.
Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the workshop discussions and the success of their Travel Grant applications will be based to a large extent on how extensive is the applicant’s personal experience in databasing herbaria.
