KNOWLEDGE ORGANIZATION SYSTEMS:
CURRENT AND FUTURE USES AMONG CENDI AGENCIES
Final Agenda
A CENDI Staff Workshop
September 16, 2004

EPA West
14th Street and Constitution Avenue – Room 5126
(Federal Triangle Metro)
Washington , DC

Knowledge Organization Systems, including thesauri, glossaries, authority files, classification schemes, and subject categorization schemes, have been used by many CENDI agencies for decades. How are these resources changing? How are they being created and maintained and what functions do they provide, particularly in a Web environment? What is the connection between more traditional resources and ontologies and taxonomies? How will these resources be used in the future? Learn what other CENDI agencies are doing in this area and participate in a discussion of future joint activities among CENDI agencies.
