Is there a limit on the size of the attachments? Where do I get a certificate? What kind of certificate do I need? If you are using a third-party grants application system, your service provider can supply a certificate. You can also get certificates from a recognized certificate authority such as Verisign, Entrust, ACES, or Thawte (Grants.gov does not accept certificates issued by "Go Daddy.com" ). You will need a 1024 or 2048 bit RSA SSL certificate. The Applicant Web Services Security document provides detailed information on obtaining and using certificates. Is it possible for me to create a synopsis via email? You may create synopsis by either using the For Grantor Web Services or via email. To create a synopsis via email you must send an email to the following email address(es) in the table below. Please refer to http://www.grants.gov/assets/SystemToSystemSpec.pdf document for details.

How do I obtain an Activation Token? In order to obtain an Activation Token, you must login as a grantor on production at www.grants.gov and select the "Manage Agency User Profile" link on the left navigation. Select "Reissue Activation Token" in the checkbox and then click submit. An Activation Token will be sent via email (to the email address associated with the login information used). What happens if an application fails to reach my Agency's web service? An email will be sent out every time a package is ready to be downloaded. System related issues that are encountered during testing will be communicated to the Grants.gov federal lead. This includes validation errors due to data that does not conform to the published schemas. In production, issues will be handled through Grants.gov support. The EGrantsApplicationSchema (recently renamed the MetaGrantApplication) is part of the published schemas, and was created as a "helper" schema to facilitate the parsing of the entire application XML document. The MetaGrantApplication Schema has been produced and was made available with the Web Services WSDL. The particular forms that are included in the MetaGrantApplication Schema will vary from one opportunity to another. The schema location referenced in the element that encloses the header, footer, and opportunity specific forms will reference a dynamically generated schema that is specific to the opportunity.
