Priester National Extension Health Conference

The Priester National Extension Health Conference, named in honor of retired CSREES National Program Leader Jeanne M. Priester, invites professionals involved in health research, education, and policy from the Cooperative Extension System (CES), health care, federal organizations and agencies, private nonprofit organizations and associations, school systems, land-grant institutions, and other institutions of higher education to attend the conference. CSREES/USDA is a conference co-sponsor.

The Priester Award honors Jeanne M. Priester and her accomplishments and contributions to the CES. She was a leader in advancing health education within CES during her tenure at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The purpose of the award is to honor extension programs impacting the health of people across the United States and that are providing the leadership to expand extension's capacity to effectively implement health programs. The Priester Award recognizes sound and innovative health education programs on the county, state, and national levels.

Health Transitions in a Changing World

2009 National Priester Extension Health Conference:

The 2009 National Priester Extension Health Conference is April 6-8, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency, Indianapolis, IN. This year’s theme is “Healthy Transitions in a Changing World.” Tracks for concurrent workshops and presentations include: healthy families, health across the lifespan, and sustaining communities. This conference is co-sponsored by CSREES/USDA and Purdue University, College of Consumer and Family Sciences Extension (CFS).
