Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) Maps
This site provides data for states and selected metropolitan/micropolitan
statistical areas. BRFSS Maps show three of the eight indicators included
in the National
Oral Health Surveillance System: annual dental visits, annual tooth
cleaning, and tooth loss in adults.
Child
Trends DataBank
This site provides research on key indicators—including unmet oral
health needs—of child and adolescent well-being. The databank provides
information on how unmet oral health needs affect child and adolescent well-being;
trends
in unmet oral health needs among children and adolescents ages 2–17;
and differences in unmet oral health needs among children and adolescents
by race and ethnicity, health insurance coverage, poverty status, and age.
International estimates, national goals, definitions, and data sources are
also provided.
DATA2010
This site
contains monitoring data for tracking Healthy People 2010 objectives.
Spreadsheet files include leading health indicators, selected mortality
objectives, selected natality objectives, and health status indicators.
To obtain oral health data, click on the field, Data by Focus Area
(Including Leading Health Indicators). Under the field, Select
a Focus Area, choose 21-Oral Health from the pop-up menu. Next,
click on the button, Include Related Objectives from Other Focus
Areas in the Table. Click on the Submit button, or use the other
fields to narrow your search.

This site provides
the updated Catalog
of Surveys and Archive of Procedures Related to Oral Health,
an annual report summarizing the oral health of the U.S.
population, a data-query system to use in generating statistical
analyses of selected oral health data, copies of public use
research materials, and oral health questions used in national
surveys.
HP2010
Information Access Project
This site allows users to browse Medline citations of published literature
containing information and evidence-based strategies related to Healthy
People 2010 oral health objectives.

Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) Topics: Dental
This site provides detailed information on dental events, including source
of payment(s), total payment and total charge, type of provider seen, and
procedure(s) associated with each dental event. Visitors can view data tables,
use analytic tools, or browse publications.

Water's Fluoride
This site provides information about local water systems, including the target
fluoridation rate and the number of people served.
National
Oral Health Surveillance System (NOHSS)
This site allows users to view tables, graphs, and maps of oral health indicators
by state. Oral health indicators include dental visits, teeth cleaning, complete
tooth loss, fluoridation status, caries experience, untreated caries, dental
sealants, and cancer of the oral cavity and pharynx.

This site provides national and state maps that show indicators for water
fluoridation, dental sealants, untreated tooth decay, and caries experience.
State
Health Workforce Profiles
This site provides data on supply, demand, distribution, education, and use
of health professionals. Estimated numbers of workers indicate the size of
the state's health work force. Per capita ratios facilitate comparisons with
other states and the nation.
Synopses of State and Territorial Dental Public Health Programs
The site provides state- and territory-specific information including
(1) support for an oral health program; (2) percentage of people
on public water systems receiving fluoridated water; (3) support
for a dental director; and (4) trends in demographics, infrastructure,
work force, administration, budget, and programs. Information is
available in list or map formats.
Title
V Information System (Title V IS)
This site was developed to electronically capture, analyze,
and disseminate data from annual State MCH Services Title V Block
Grant applications and reports. The Title V Information System
offers tailored information including performance and outcome measures,
descriptive statistics, financial data, and states' priority needs.
Water
Fluoridation Reporting System (WFRS)
This site is a monitoring tool for state and tribal water fluoridation program
managers and oral health program directors or managers. Accessing this system
requires special authorization. The Water Fluoridation Reporting System is
the data source for the annual fluoridation information in NOHSS.
