Obesity White Paper
The CSREES
Obesity White Paper describes the obesity
epidemic in the U.S. and describes how
CSREES, the federal partner with the nationwide
land-grant university system, is establishing
a new Partnership Obesity Prevention Initiative.
It will support and coordinate obesity-related
research, education, and extension programs
across the country. This network will focus
on cutting edge research to identify critical
gaps in addressing the obesity problem,
to understand the factors that affect behavior
and lead to obesity, and to find ways to
intervene to change these factors to prevent
obesity.
