Volunteers Needed in Umpqua National ForestContact: Coral Bailie, (541) 947-3425 ROSEBURG, OR – November 21, 2008 – The Umpqua National Forest is now accepting applications for volunteers for the 2009 season. Needed are camp hosts, aquatic invasive species inspectors, and trail and campground maintenance crews. Forest officials are currently interviewing for camp hosts at both Eagle Rock Campground on the upper Umpqua River and Poole Creek Campground at Lemolo Lake. Also needed are volunteers with excellent people skills to staff the Diamond Lake Visitor Center and to serve as the Fire Lookout at the Pig Iron Lookout Tower near the Toketee Ranger Station. "I really believe this could be another great year for our volunteers," says Coral Bailie, the Umpqua National Forest volunteer coordinator.
