In the fifth installment of the "Solos" series, the museum presents Tulou, a prototype for affordable housing being built in the city of Guangzhou by the Chinese architectural practice Urbanus. The Tulou project incorporates 250 apartment units, a dormitory, small hotel, shops, gymnasium, library, and various communal and public spaces. To experience the spacial interior of this design project, a full-scale section of a bedroom area of one housing unit is on display.

This exhibition showcases the Eugene V. and Clare E. Thaw's collection of 19th-century watercolor drawings that meticulously detail the era's interior furnishings and document the social, cultural, and aesthetic development of European domestic life. The collection includes examples of English, German, Russian, Swiss, and Austrian domestic spaces. Selected objects from the museum's permanent collection complement the drawings.
