Emerald Ash Borer Infestations Found in Fairfax County, Virginia (Jul 11, 2008) and Commissioner of Agriculture Expands Quarantine Areas in Northern Virginia Because of Emerald Ash Borer (Jul 22, 2008)
Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
Two new infestations of emerald ash borer (EAB) were recently discovered (Jul 7 and 9) and confirmed in ash trees in the town of Herndon and the Newington area, both in Fairfax County, Virginia. As of July 21, a quarantine area originally limited to Fairfax County expanded to include the additional counties of Arlington, Fauquier, Loudoun and Prince William and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax City, Falls Church, Manassas and Manassas Park.
