The new Arts @ Illinois

...create the future with us.

The College of Fine and Applied Arts is a unique amalgamation of artistic disciplines—one of only a few in the entire country devoted to three aspects of artistic practice and training—visual arts, performing arts, and environmental design arts. Collectively, our academic units play an essential role to preserve knowledge, teach critical thinking, and advance modes of expression for the most vibrant of human experiences.

The College includes the schools of Architecture, Art and Design, and Music, and the departments of Theatre, Dance, Landscape Architecture, and Urban and Regional Planning in addition to such world class facilities as Japan House, the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, the Krannert Art Museum, the I space Gallery in Chicago, and the East St. Louis Action Research Project.

No other college of the arts in the country can boast having as many accredited programs that are ranked as highly overall. About 470 faculty and staff members serve 1,918 undergraduate and 866 graduate students; more than 800 courses are offered by the College and attended by students from across campus.
