Welcome

[Photograph]: Cedar Breaks National Monument. The Dixie National Forest, with headquarters in Cedar City, Utah, occupies almost two million acres and stretches for about 170 miles across southern Utah. The largest National Forest in Utah, it straddles the divide between the Great Basin and the Colorado River.

Dixie National Forest Motorized Travel Planning Project

The Dixie National Forest is preparing an EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) to establish a forest-wide system of designated routes for motorized travel in accordance with the new travel management policy.

Land Management Planning for the Dixie and Fishlake National Forests

The Forest Plan provides management direction for the many multiple uses of a national forest. Some of those multiple uses include: outdoor recreation, range, timber, watershed, fish and wildlife, minerals, wilderness, and cultural resources. The forest resources are to be used in a sustainable manner to provide a variety of products and use opportunities for current and future generations.

Forest Plan Revision - You Can Help

The Dixie and Fishlake National Forests are currently revising their Forest Plans. Your input is important. You can participate in public meetings or share your comments through the Forest Plan Revision website:

Partnerships

The National Forest Foundation (NFF) is the congressionally-chartered nonprofit partner of the U.S. Forest Service. The NFF and its grassroots partners adress key challenges to the health of our National Forests and Grasslands. Together, we work on solutions in community-based forestry, recreation, wateshed restoration, and wildlife habitat.

The NFF also brings together all of you who are concerned about our National Fores ts. The Friends of the Forest™ program helps you enjoy, protect, and participate in the conservation work in our beloved National Forests.
